Central Hill (City Hall, the High School) has been being circled by helicopters for the last hour at least. Every time I think they're going away, it seems that more come (or they get closer/louder).

Anyone know what's up?

There was police action on the other side of Winter Hill -- Derby was closed and the Healey school had a shelter-in-place, which complicated dismissal.

I meant to include- I don't know if that's what the helicopters were for, but I could imagine a circle around Derby including Central Hill.

Oh, yeah, that would do it. I was guessing Central Hill from what I could hear down on Medford and Pearl streets.

Someone listening on a scanner said there was a hostage situation on Derby at ~1:45pm, now over, but I have no other cite for that.
