I'd like a new, faster macbook, and it is tax free weekend this weekend. If noone buys by Sunday, I'll invest in applecare for another 2 years and keep it.

Hmm.. For $1099 (only $209 more than you're asking) I can get a new 13" macbook with a 2GHz Core2 Duo/80GB/1GB with a full 1 year warranty. I'd be more interested if you were asking around $660, which accounts for one-third off of a 3-year depreciation schedule.
