Cell phone found

I found a Virgin Mobile cell phone on Mass Ave, a couple blocks west of Porter. It is a black 'candy bar' design (i.e. non-folding). The phone looks like it may have been kicked around a bit, but the battery level looks like it was charged with the last couple of days.

Tell me the number and I will return it. Comments are being screened, so you can post an email address without it getting picked up by spam bots.

You might be able to contact Virgin and have them track down the owner. While some people never register the Virgin phones since they're pay-as-you-go, others do since you get discounts (my parents have 'em so I'm familiar with them). People can register alternate phone numbers and email addresses with Virgin, so it's possible Virgin knows how to contact the person affiliated with that phone number.

One thing you could do, if the right person doesn't respond to this post, is to call a number in the Contacts list (particularly if someone is listed as "Mom" or something) and explain that you found the cell phone; you don't know whose it is, etc. Then they'll be able to point you to the person who owns it.

I left a voicemail at what appears to be the owner's home number (listed as 'mycrib'). I'll try 'mom' or 'dad' if I don't hear back from them.
