Brattle Theatre passes going cheap

I bought one of those Groupon deals for a Brattle membership and the passes have been sitting in a drawer.

For $30 you'll get 13 passes, a coupon for "1 large popcorn and 2 regular drinks" and a membership card for discounts at lots of places. It all expires on Friday, November 5th. Cash only, and pickup from my house on Bartlett St. in Somerville. Email me at fallnews at gmail dot com.

You can use the passes however you want - e.g. go to 13 shows or take 13 friends to one show.

The passes are yours if you can pick them up from Bartlett St. I work at home and I rarely get to Inman or Central.

For those who got the Groupon deal but came too late, the Brattle is offering a Groupon renewal that's a pretty sweet deal.

Can you provide any further info on this? I also have far too many passes left to reasonably use up in the next month, and might definitely be interested. But I'm not see it mentioned at the Brattle page, or at Groupon, so I'd appreciate any pointers.

Apparently it's just a standing renewal deal: renew on their site before September 30th and you get an extra 4 free passes.

The message was tagged "Dear Groupon member..." so I thought it was tied in with them, but apparently they just want to retain their members.

$75 for 16 free passes is a damn good deal.

Thanks. But this just sounds like some random subset of groupon people got an email reminding them they could buy a regular membership when the groupon expired.

Yes, it is still a good deal if you go there a lot, but since I only used up half of the last batch of tickets, getting 16 new ones probably doesn't make sense over just paying regular admission when I go.
