baby sitting/odd jobs during winter

Folks,
My main job has mostly gone away because of the cold (teaching bicycle riding) so I am open to doing whatever people need for a few months: baby sitting, elder care, errands, transcribing, sewing and mending.

What Mamajoan and lyonesse said: Try TaskRabbit. Not only do they have local tasks you can bid and work on, they also have virtual tasks that you can bid on as well. Contrary to what you might see at times, not all of the tasks are housekeeping tasks-though oddly enough many of them are in Cambridge and Somerville...
