Hello, this is Jackie Rossetti with important snow emergency information for Monday, February 13.

The City will lift the current snow emergency at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Beginning at 9 a.m., vehicles parked in any municipal or school lot will have two hours to move out of the lot. Any vehicles not moved by 11 a.m. will be ticketed and towed so that City crews can safely plow and treat the lots.

Property owners are also reminded that you will have six daylight hours tomorrow to clear sidewalks abutting your property of snow and ice. Sidewalks not cleared by 1 p.m. may result in tickets each day until the sidewalk is clear.

If you have a non-emergency question, please call 311 (or 617-666-3311 from outside the city).

Thank you.

Whoa, what about people who had to park, and then go to work?

Now I feel like we've had the real test of the Park-Even season. I'm on the odd side, and I'm still really pleased.

1. Less shoveling of the street area. I mean, I still have to do some of it to get the plow crud out of the way of my driveway. But it's several feet less.

2. The non-neighbor jerks who clean off their car and dump the snow on to your clean sidewalk are now on the other side! Woot!

It's really not that much different. Small victories. But as my housemate said--at least it feels fairer now.

i'm on the odd side too and am disappointed. the only reason there's any place to park on my side of the street is because residents dug out some space. because god forbid the plows actually plow to the curb. they did last year, when it was odd-side parking! why not this year? hmph, plows, hmph.

on the other hand! woot for not having to deal with people dumping their snow on your nice clean sidewalk! because that really sucks, when people do that. it's so rude.

I'm highly disappointed-- at every snow emergency this year, there have been at least one, if not multiple, cars parked on the even side, including in front of our house. There were no tickets the first time, which is somewhat understandable because it's a new setup (not that the annually-switching rentals on my street necessarily know what it's been like in the past). Snow emergency #2 and no tickets. Now snow emergency #3 and once again, a car right in front of our house (odd) parked, and not ticketed. So we haven't had the pleasure of experiencing a complete plow to the curb in front of our house.

Whenever I hear out-of-towners complain about the aggressive ticketing in Somerville, I laugh and wonder what neighborhoods are getting the attention in lieu of ours?
