I just found out that Diva has closed. A Google search yielded this post on Boston Restaurant Talk.

The sign is a masterpiece of friendly vagueness: "the people of Davis Square welcomed us with open arms" and "we have developed many friendships and warm customers over the years, and we shall miss them, but the time has come for us to pursue other endeavors" but no hint of what those other endeavors might be.

Wow! The quality had really been on the decline these last few years. I wonder what will replace it.

Someone on the Davis Square Facebook forum said they spotted a permit notice in the window referencing Genki Ya (the sushi place in Fresh Pond), but it's hard for me to imagine that large space as only a sushi restaurant, and one in a neighborhood with tons of options for sushi, Japanese, and raw fish already.
