Domino's

I noticed that a crew was doing demolition work inside the former Falafel Shop location next to Domino's last week, and soon after that, took apart the Domino's itself (including its sign). A peek inside shows that the entire interior has been gutted, and the permit sign in the window says that they're refurbishing the entire interior and exterior to conform with the "new Domino's look". So I guess our mini-Domino's is becoming a very large Domino's.

I don't understand why Domino's exists at all in our area, which has so many local pizza shops that deliver.

I'm with Ron; any local mom-and-pop pizza joint has it all over Domino's by an order of magnitude.

Personal opinion: Posto has, hands down, the best pizza in greater Davis; really, it's one of my favorites in the region. But you have to like seriously Italian-style pizza...

Oh, absolutely. For inexpensive good-enough neighborhood delivery, we mostly use Pini's. Not so fancy, but reliable and tasty...

Completely agree. Davis Square has a lot going for it but this place is terrible for pizza delivery. The places that can sometimes make a good pizza are so inconsistent with quality and delivery times that Domino's is sadly one of the better delivery pizza places in the area.

Davis needs a dedicated SLICE place, not just a pizza restaurant, for when you just want a little something to hold you over or to eat when you're out at night. Flatbread is delicious, but it's a shame they don't have slices available. Mike's is unbearable, Cristos might as well be a frozen pizza from Shaws, Oath is just funnel cake with sauce on top, and Posto is good but a sit-down ordeal. I'm hoping the new Mortadella Head will be a little bit more casual and have reasonably priced, solid slices. It's sad that the whole building will now be dedicated to Dominos (I'd rather have kept the McD's and been rid of the Dominos...at least McD's has coffee)! I wish Antonio's from Amherst would open up shop in Davis...a girl can dream!

Also, it was a sad day when the Sabatino's in Arlington closed out of the blue :( Their calzones and slice offerings were great and cheap. Fiorella's Express is actually pretty good right at the Mass Ave x'ing of the bike path. Pescatore in Ball Square does a very good basic cheese pie, but again, no slices.

The McD's was on Elm where Meju now resides, but I mentioned it if we're discussing big chains. I wish the alderman would STOP repeating trends i.e. Fro yo, ramen, poke/sushi... we don't need 3 of each at once, only to go out of business 2 years later!
