shop local
Mar. 17th, 2020 09:59 amI've been brainstorming which vulnerable businesses I want to make sure continue to survive, that I can remember to do business with, and I'm wondering what other people's places to protect would be.
What businesses are y'all worried about? Any of them do deliveries or gift certificates?
- Porter Square books is doing free local delivery
- If you have a comics sub/pull list, and you can't pick it up, call them up and at least see if you can pay for the things in your sub over the phone, because the store has had to pay for them. Million year picnic has some limited delivery; does anyone know what Comicazi is doing?
- I can't imagine I can do much for any of my favorite Ball Square places, already suffering from construction. I hope Taco Party makes it.

Date: 2020-03-19 01:16 am (UTC)Unfortunately the only other thing I can report on is that Davis Square Chiropractic is closed for some 2-3 weeks except for extreme cases, at which point you are supposed to call them.
Oh, and Pennypackers, which had been about to close the Magoun location to foot traffic, has rescinded that, as of a couple days ago, and will exclusively serve things to be heated at home. I think I saw that on FB.

There is also a list of fundraisers for restaurants and restaurant workers here:

In general, I've found following the businesses I care about on Instagram to be the most timely way to keep up with changes.
