Thirding Intelligent Labor! I've used them twice and then my employer paid for MacDonald Moving when I'd have preferred to use Intelligent again... huge mistake, and highlighted to me just how well-prepared, respectful, and professional Intelligent is.
Meanwhile, I cannot disrecommend MacDonald strongly enough, their team lead on that job begged a few of my partner's homebrews off them during the move and either got tipsy enough to make incredibly bad decisions or just at baseline thought he was in good company to air his feelings about how this Hitler guy gets a bad rap; I don't believe he realized I was Jewish, but he kept doubling down on that crap even as both we and one of his coworkers tried to help him backpedal. Then one of the team either lost or stole some irreplicable family heirlooms, and the company's loss manager both fired the team lead about the Hitler thing before having reasonable conversations about the missing jewelry (when I'd directly told her that a speedy dismissal would make me scared for my safety, considering dude obviously knows where I live) and then seemed to have decided the scale of loss was too large/they didn't want to submit it through their insurer for fear of dinging their rates, so massively lowballed me (under 5% of the estimated physical cost of the items). They also were pretty careless with our stuff - beyond the missing heirlooms, there was some broken dishware, scattered items from drawers they'd promised me were fine to stay loaded but which they did not secure in any way and then for reasons beyond my comprehension loaded into the plenty-large truck sideways instead of right side up... plus, they badmouthed my colleagues a good chunk of the load-in as they did a lot of work for my company, so I spent the whole time in hyper people-pleasing mode under the pretty well-grounded conception that otherwise my name would be the next one they were spreading at future coworkers' moves
Agreed. I've used GG a bunch of times, and they've always done a great job.
The primary warning there is that their initial quote will be high -- as far as I can tell, they budget for the client being disorganized and badly packed. I'm usually more careful than that, and they've consistently come in under the quote.

Date: 2023-02-01 05:29 pm (UTC)We had them do most of our packing, as well as load and unload the truck, and did both things well.
