Stop and Shop-How to get there?

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday. I have a question for those of you in both Davis and the greater Somerville area. I have heard that there are a couple of large Stop and Shops located in Somerville, or the near vicinity. I'd like to start shopping at one, but I am unsure how to get there. I am wondering if anyone knows if public transportation goes near to one of them, and if they are fairly accesible from Highland Ave. Let me know your thoughts. It is greatly appreciated!

The 89 bus goes down Broadway towards Sullivan Square. There's a new Stop and Shop a block away from the intersection of Broadway and 28.

Awesome! I think that's the one I am looking for. Driving I know if you go up to the top of Highland and take a left onto McGrath, it's right down there. So I bet that's the one my friend was mentioning. Your help is appreciated. :)

i used to shop at that location and it is quite nice, and rarely crowded.

Yeah, that's a great store. Huge selection and no mobs like the Porter Square Star.

the supermarket right at Porter Square T-station is actually very good, as well, though usually super crowded.

The 87 goes by it, and runs somewhat close to Highland. And I've had days where I felt so tired and lazy that I just got on the T at Porter and rode one whole stop to save me 10 minutes of walking. Happy Wednesday to you too.

actually, cutting and pasting is a lot quicker than typing.

but moreso, i kind of believe in that whole "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime" principle.

Hi all! Thanks so much for the help. I currently shop at the Porter Square Star Market, but we really prefer Stop and Shop overall. So we've been looking to switch up our routine. Though the bus ride will be a bit long to switch to the 89, it will be worth it. Thanks so much. :)

The proper Somerville townie directions to the new Stop and Shop over on McGrath Highway (Route 28) near the intersection with Broadway are:

There is also a Stop and Shop in Arlington that you can get to by the 77 down Mass Ave.
