So a friend is coming into town and we want to bowl one or two games on Saturday or Sunday night. I believe I have passed a bowling alley right around (in??) Davis Square but perhaps my eyes play tricks on me. Can anyone fill me in on those lanes...good/bad/pros/cons AND is it 10-pin bowling? Is there anywhere in Boston besides the alley by Alewife that has 10-pin bowling?

Thank you so much!

But candlepin is cooler than tenpin anyway! ;)

(I go to Sacco's every week...)

Oh, I love Sacco's -- I was there just last night. Candlepin is fun, it's the scoring for yourself (on paper!) that I have trouble with.

I feel completely the opposite. OK, sometimes it's hard to see how many pins are standing and sometimes I make ridiculous adding mistakes...but scoring computers can be arbitrarily possessed by demons at any point and there's nothing you can do about it.

And they have those silly graphics when I get a gutter ball that irritate me..

(not that you asked :)

Next time you go, invite me along. I love to bowl but don't get out as often as I could.
