swimming pools?

hey peeps. i'm looking for some swimming pool options in the area. so far, the only one i know of is the one at the j.f. kennedy school on cherry street by shaws. BUT apparently that pool is pretty much taken over by a swim team in the evenings, starting today.

does anyone know of some decent free swim or lap pools that are clean, less busy, and fairly cheap, and also welcome swimmers who aren't advanced?

Have you looked at the Y on Highland Ave? It's not in Davis, but it's on the 88 and 90 lines (if you need to take public tranportation). Also, isn't there a public pool at the War Memorial Building (right by Cambridge Rindge and Latin outside of Harvard Square)? If you find anything that's free, let us know!

ooh, great idea! that's pretty close to where i live, actually (the Y). i hear there's a free pool in watertown, but it's alll the wayyyy over therrre ;-)

Check out the Boys and Girls Club in East Arlington, near Spy Pond. It's a short bus/bike ride from Davis.
