A question for Subaru owners...

I have a question for other Subaru owners...


I went to Cityside Subaru once, when I needed their techs to check the codes why a "check engine light" turned on. Seemed nobody else had the codes. But the place is in the middle of nowhere, and it's too cold to drop off my car and then walk to Belmont Center. Does the place offer shuttles to Belmont for train access, etc?

More importantly, my Subaru has about 113K miles on it, and while I've typically gone to Hogan Tire (where my tires are from) for oil changes, I'm in need of auto service akin to a 15K or 30K checkup. Would it be cheaper at a place like Hogan Tire or Midas, or at a place like the dealership?

My boyfriend takes his car to the Natick Subaru dealership and the offer a free rental car or a shuttle to things near there. He works in Newton, so this works. I don't know if this is an option for you.

They already moved, right? I HOPE they offer shuttle service from their middle-of-nowhere location, but they didn't at the old location. Easiest to call and ask, eh? It will be much more expensive to get service at the dealership, but they probably guarantee their work, and and are more 'expert' as they only deal with subaru's. If you have a relationship with another mechanic and trust them, you will probably be okay getting the service there.

#1: Cityside does now offer shuttle back to the Alewife T stop (they might also take you over to the commuter rail stop near there as it is actually closer)

#2: FYI, in Autozone will read out the trouble light codes for free and in my experience can translate from code number to issue name.
