Davis Sq Holiday party at Johnny D's, Wed 12/21

Johnny D's is having a "Holiday Extravaganza" on Wednesday afternoon and evening, December 21. Local artists will be able to sell their jewelry, crafts, etc to the patrons from 4:30 - 7:30, with the "2nd Annual Casual Philharmonic
Sonic Christmas Cavalcade" to follow at 8:30. I'll post the full message (which was sent to the Somerville Arts Council mailing list) below the cut.

We have decided to do the following for our "Holiday" event
on Dec 21.

Event: The Davis Square Holiday Extravaganza
Date: Dec 21, 2005
Time: Art for Sale displayed from 4:30 - 7:30*/ band starts
at 8:30 (*artists are welcome to keep their display up later depending
on space needed for evening show)
Place: Johnny Ds Uptown Restaurant & Music Club 17 Holland
Street, Davis Square Somerville
Details: In hopes to celebrate the Holidays with artist,
musicians, and our Davis Square neighbors, we have decided to put
together an event where local artists can display and sell their
pieces right before the Holidays! We will directly target the those
folks in Davis Square - office workers, Redline T riders, and
neighbors with hand flyering. We will also post the info on our
website, send out an email to the Johnny D's list, and put flyers in
house. We would be happy to put links to the artist and/or a quick
bio. Any promotion done by artists or the Arts Council is very much
appreciated.

The following items will attract people to the event:
· Free Hot Apple Cider from 4:30 - 7:30
· 1/2 price apps and entrees from 4:30 - 6:30
· Crazy, Kooky, and Cool Christmas Carols on until Headliner Performs
· Local artists will be able to sell their jewelry, crafts, etc to the
patrons from 4:30 - 7:30. We prefer to have at least half of the
pieces under $25 if at all possible. This would make it easier for
the artist to sell their pieces on that day. Each artists will be
supplied with their own table/space to display their goods. Those
artists interested or wanting more information can email me at
fredramosjr@gmail.com. We hope to make this event annual.
· Three free massages will be raffled off that night in addition to a
Johnny Ds gift pack.
· Finally, with an 8:30 start time, the 2nd Annual Casual Philharmonic
Sonic Christmas Cavalcade promises to be a classic. The Chandler
Travis Philharmonic is bringing special guests to Johnny Ds that night
in a program to benefit the Bread and Jam. That will be a great end
to what looks to be a great evening.

That's a nice idea. :-) Unfortunately I'll miss it, since I'll be en flight to Rochester, NY for Christmas that day. Hope the event goes really well though!
