The Tufts Daily published this on November 29, 2005. Some of you may be interested in seeing what Davis Square looks like from atop the hill:

A cultural hub or just a way to get into Boston?

I was somewhat bemused by the last quote in the story--I wonder what kind of cultural events he's looking for?

I just read it and thought the same thing. Um...dude, there's film, there's live music, there's ArtBeat, there's Open Studios, there's community theatre and a comedy club, and more. And if that's not enough, we're within easy reach of plenty more. I'm inclined to think that guy just isn't getting out much, but that's hardly the fault of Davis Square.

I second this. Or is it third?

It's just a matter of what he's comparing it to, I think. As a participant in both, obviously I love things like ArtBeat and SOS, but that only covers two weekends a year. The assortment of live music is great, but aside from Jimmy Tingle's, which mostly does Jimmy Tingle, I think, there isn't any professional theater. We also don't have anything resembling a real museum.

It's a great neighborhood, and I'll kick the ass of anyone who says otherwise, but while it is urban, it's not "city". But heck, the guy has options. He's welcome to leave. :)
