They are just doing some remodeling. One nice thing is that the tellers will no longer be behind glass. That is always a good sign. Does anyone remember the McDonald's in the Fenway area? The counter had a security fence over it to prevent people from jumping over the counter!

'Bank of America' is the fourth bank name I've seen on that building since I moved to Davis Square eleven years ago. It's gone from BayBank to BankBoston to Fleet to Bank of America. I'm sure it had a few other names before it was BayBank.

The bank across the street has changed from Shawmut to Fleet to Sovereign. And the one on Elm Street has gone from Somerset Savings to USTrust to Citizens Bank.

Yep, banking has been one big gobblefest in the past decade. My first "adult" bank account was one of those BayBank student accounts. Ah, the good old days.
