Is this coming Monday also considered a city holiday like this past one was? I noticed our trash didnt get picked up until Tuesday this week (usually gets taken on Mondays) and I assume it was since Christmas was on the weekend. Does it apply for New Years as well, just wondering if i should wait an extra day before putting out a ton of stuff I need taken away. I looked on the somerville website and it doesnt seem to have holiday trash pick up schedules.

Pretty much always, and even holidays not everyone gets, like Columbus Day.

Mine's picked up Tuesday morning unless it's a holiday Monday, in which case it's Wednesday morning.

Yes, but ...

It's an official state and city holiday, but some official business will still occur. The 2006 inaugural ceremonies for elected officials will occur Monday night at Somerville High School, followed by a reception. All Somerville residents are invited to attend.

This Monday is the federal holiday for New Year's Day, so there won't be any trash pick up or mail delivery. The same was true of last Monday.
