I'm looking for someone to help me apply thermal grease to my processor. Is that you?

I've never worked with thermal grease before, and I need to replace my processor fan and heatsink. I have the necessary parts (and the compound), but I don't want to screw up my processor not having the experience.

Maybe you could come by my place where I have everything and I can buy you a coffee or a pizza or something?

Thanks!

You can also use toothpaste, which is just as effective.

I've smeared thermal compound around with my fingers on countless machines with no problems. All the compound is doing is filling in the microscopic gaps and improving heat transfer between the CPU die core and the heatsink. Finger oils don't break down silicone oil, silver or aluminum, and the pressure from the heatsink will thoroughly compress the thermal grease to the point where finger grooves are not an issue. Don't believe the hype! The cheapo Radio Shack thermal compound works just as well as Arctic Silver, by the way.
