Band needed for 1/19 in Somerville

(or, file under: When a band pulls off a bill, why is it always on 8 days' notice, no more, no less?)

Need a band to take the 11 o'clock time slot (40 minute set) on Thursday, 1/19/06, for the DARK SKY series at Skybar.

If you meet both of the following requirements:

1. Can draw 10-15 people (at least) on a Thursday in Somerville (read: will cross-promote with me to worketh thy mailing lists and other promotional forums).

2. Has not played one of my events within the past 30 days

There is pay involved (it's not a minimum gig fee; all bands get a % of the door, depending on draw).

I've heard about your band! Do you have a website? I did fill the 1/19 bill, but I put on 8-14 shows a month, and I would welcome new blood to the rosters.

i haven't looked at, let alone maintained, our website in, umm, years. so it's safer to say "no" :) but i can tell you a bit about us: lineup: electric guitar, cello, woodwinds, hand drums, electric violin, vocals; music mostly original but with some folk-trad tunes (usually of the nastier sort); been together umm six years; play out usually only at friends' parties a couple times a year; did a little live radio, did a show at the "all asia" once and drew about twenty people, but that was earlier in the evening -- 11pm seems to be too late for our community. or if you have other questions you have but to ask. we generally practice sunday evenings in davis square, so if you'd like to stop by sometime and hear us that'd be just fine too :)
