Scrap Metal

Can anyone tell me how we get rid of scrap metal in Somerville. I have the sheet metal panels from what was once a washing machine. Neither regular trash pick-up nor recycling took it, so it's still there. I don't have a car for taking it anywhere. Is there any service for pickup of this sort of thing? Thanks!

put it on craigslist...someone will come pick it up cuz you can sell it to a scrap metal yard and make good money! my bf sells the scrap metal from his job sites all the time and makes a few hundred each time and we live in somerville :)

There was just an article in the metro about how people are peeling the aluminum siding off houses because scrap metal is so valuable.

Call some yards, they make actually come collect it AND pay you.

Sorry for the late response. It's the front and one side of a washing machine. Its painted white. They're pretty gnarled and look like they ripped from the unit by an angry, angry person. You can cruise by 7 Bay State Ave and take a look if you want. They're still there.

Somerville bulk pickup is on request(last I knew). Looks like that other person is correct about the 311 line being the place to call (617-666-3311).
