If you are unfamiliar with Day of Silence, it is a national youth movement founded in 1996 to protest the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people and their allies and to draw attention to those who have been silenced by hatred, oppression, and prejudice. The focus is on youth, but all who are supportive are encouraged to attend.
