Props search for local theatre!
Feb. 23rd, 2006 09:17 amHello everyone, I am designing props for the upcoming production of "You Can't Take It With You" by Kaufmann and Hart which will be produced this spring by Theatre@First,based out of the First Church on College Ave in Davis.
This play has several demanding props requirements and I was wondering if anyone in this community would be willing to donate or lend the following items for the show:
*a prop medical skeleton ( or something similar)
* an old pair of wooden skis
*safari related items
*a very large fish tank
*a 1930's style radio
*Art Deco patterned rugs and table cloths
and....
*a xylophone
Of the items listed, I would say the xylophone is the most important. It can be in working or non-working condition.
I also am looking for free donations of various knick knacks, old souvenirs, tchkokes, interesting pieces of small sculpture, ceramics, or art etc... to use as set dressing. The play is set in the 1930's, so anything that looks like it could be from that era or earlier in the century would be very desireable. If you are cleaning out your attics/closets/garages and were considering tossing some "junk" give it a second look, I might be able to use it.
It's going to be a beautiful play;I hope someone can help us out!
