Porter Square Code
Mar. 2nd, 2006 04:26 pmI've got a stupid question, cut for length and only tangential relevance (i.e. it's about the next square over):
Yesterday, on one of the metal-and-stone sculptures outside the Porter Square T, the following was written in chalk. On one side, in a column, were the numbers:
24. 42. 11. 14- 31. 44. 55. 23. 14. 12. 22. 13- 53. 22- 34. 22. 44- 42. 11. 15. 55-
and on the other:
What does it mean? I mean, OK, I know what it means, but why was it there? What does it signify? Anyone know?

Key: | 1 2 3 4 5 --+---------- 1 | A I N T V 2 | K O S W P 3 | Q R X Y Z 4 | B H M U C 5 | G L D F E 56 = J
