I am looking for a part time job ideally something to do with plants, flowers. I want to check out local nurseries, plant stores etc but i dont know where they are. I know there is one on Mass Ave towards the Arlington line but is there any other close to the square or within 10-15 mins vicinity?

thanks :)

You might also look into landscaping. There are some landscaping companies that allow you to get into that sort of stuff.

Huh. The only landscaper I know is a woman. But I really don't know the industry. Well, maybe you'll have better luck with Pemberton Farms.

I'm a landscaper, and it's definitely not a problem with you being a girl. Usually, two-thirds of our workers are women. The part time bit would be an issue. If you're really hard worker, and either experienced or crave to learn, we might still hire part-time, but that's a big if... and you'd also have to drive to Lincoln, to the various job sites.

If you're interested in getting into landscaping, working at a nursery first is a really good idea because you get familiar with all the plants before you see them in actual use, and you already understand a bit about plants. Also helps to see what sorts of things people buy :)

Hmm, it'd actually be more of a 7-7:30am to 3-5pm (as the days vary depending on the work we do, as well as the severity of the weather) if you were full-time. Again, I know he rarely hires part-time people, but it definitely doesn't hurt to ask him. He's a very unique person, and an amazing boss. Emphasise your desire to learn.

This appears to be my boss' most recent ad on Craigslist:

Try Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge (actually, most of it's in Watertown)

Try the Yellow Pages and look up the category of places you are interested in. If you don't know where the address they list is located, look it up on Expedia or MapQuest.
