About the room: I'm in a medium sized room, with a bed (futon frame, but real mattress), desk, dresser, small closet, and a window air conditioning unit. It is a cheery room (with yellow walls) and gets wonderful morning sunlight.
About the house: We live in a 3 store house right on College Ave in Davis Square. You would get the pleasure of getting to know six wonderful roomates. We are all MIT alums (classes 01-04), and are all working or grad students (some jobs include software engineer, assistant director of admissions, marketing intern). There is quite a nice amount of common space on the first floor, as well as a wonderful kitchen. The kitchen was redone 2 years ago, so it still looks mostly new. There are 2 bathrooms, as well. We try to keep the place relatively clean, but it is 7 people sharing space.
More on the people: We really are quite a chill group. We rarely fight (no real world drama, sorry), are very considerate of each other, don't smoke or do other drugs. Our hanging out is usually in the form of making dinner, watching tv, or playing games.
What we're looking for: Yeah, it's only 2 months, but it's summer! and summer is fun, so housing should be fun. If you are relaxed, willing to go with the flow, not looking to break any furniture, relatively clean, non smoker, no pets, and think you can live with the people i described above, please contact me. There will be 2 women and 4 men during the summer, so a woman would be nice, but we have a no discrimination policy ;)
Anything else: aside from utilities (TV cable, internet (wireless), electricity, gas) which are low during the summer, we do shared food. One person usually goes shopping and buys whatever people ask, and then at the end of the month we just split the shopping bill. like a utility. it's never more than $100 a person per month, and usually less. if this is completely disagreeable to you, given the short term of the stay, you can probably opt out.
