Time to update the community interests list on the community page. I see some restaurants listed that have closed, etc. Throw me some suggestions for deletions and additions.

I'd remove "the" from the beginning of items that begin with it

I played with this a bit when we had the brief schism, so the ideas I had are at the davissquare info page, but that's really just a beginning. Basically, I'd recommend focusing on the things that help make the community/neighborhood unique and get rid of the "in" jokes and multiple minor spelling variants for a single place.

Oh, and add Sligo Pub and McKinnon's. I'd argue against including a tele-fundraising firm as an "interest" of the community, but that's just me...

I totally agree about ditching the in-jokes.

I'd like to find some keywords that might help local LJers who don't know about this community find us if they do an interest search. That's how I've found almost every community I belong to. I don't know what words, though...

the hotdog place is (or will be) called Spike's Junkyard Dogs. Is it open yet?

I didn't realize Fusion Express had closed. I don't walk that direction very often.

OK, I made almost all of the suggested changes. Thanks! I took out some of those in-jokes mentioned above, and also really vague things like "benches" and "traffic lights." Also things that every town has, like "post office."

I added some things we talk about frequently in this community, like carfree living, green living, etc. Oh, and the B&B on Morrison St. Let me know as we roll along if you have more suggestions!
