Does anyone know of a good car mechanic around Davis square? I need to get a second opinion on some repairs that the dealer said that I need to do on my Honda CRV.
Koko at Foreign and Domestic Auto on Boston Ave (behind Tufts, near the intersection with Winthrop Street) is absolutely phenomenal. He's actually told me to take my car away because - and I quote verbatim - "I don't want you spending money on this. It's fine." And he's been right! I originally went to him after being quoted $1,600 by Grava Chrysler (a highly, HIGHLY negligent service, I might add, and rude to boot) - Koko did the service for $400.
Additionally, if you go to www.cartalk.com, they have a link to a site that has customer reviews of local mechanics. Koko gets universally glowing reviews.
Another recommendation for Hondar House. When I was living in New Hampshire I used to drive sixty miles to Cambridge to get the car tuned up; they're that good.
This is getting redundant, but I always take my Element to Hondar House on Prospect St. in Cambridge (between Inman and Central Square). They are great.
