At Monday's Davis Square Task Force meeting, we learned that the owner of Ristorante Limoncello in Boston's North End wants to open a second location in Davis Square. The restaurant would fill both the Buck-A-Book space and the adjoining former Mini-Mart space. Assuming they get all of their permits, they'd like to open in October. During good weather, they'll have outdoor seating in the plaza.

*sigh* Instead of something useful like a hardware store, electronics store, or beer garden, we put MORE FOOD in the square. I'm glad I'm moving.

Radio Shack is unpleasantly sterile and Tags is just difficult to navigate. Perhaps those two specifically are fulfilled markets, but... something? Maybe a second Johnny D's that's only open for sunday brunch. ;)

Actually, there was a Radio Shack in Davis Square about five or six years ago. If memory serves, it was in the storefront that's now the Newbury St. wannabee Diva Lounge.

Italian is good, although Antonia's is already there and across the street. This sounds significantly larger though.

Personally I think Sauce failed because it was mediocre and overpriced.

Agreed. Gargoyles still seems to be doing fairly well, and they're pricey. But the food I had there was many times better and more interesting than what I had at Sauce.

Is Supreme Deli the same as the Supreme Kitchen that's on Highland Ave near the Somerville Hospital? If it is, with the smoking ban these days, maybe it's inhabitable again.

What happened to the scheduled opening of the Planned Parenthood offices in the buck a book spot?

The restaurant would be replacing the clinic? Going in next to it?

Ah, thanks. That explains my confusion, I had notice that the storefront was still empty, and haven't been through the plaza in a while.

Agreed, too... we'll see how 400 Highland does.

Well I think instead of complaining about a new restaurant opening, we should be supporting it. Hopefully it will not be too expensive. We need to support all the businesses in our Square if we want Davis to prosper!

Antonia's is a great Italian style restaurant that deserves to get a lot more business. If you've never been, try it out. Also despite the linen and somewhat formal appearance, they are baby friendly!

I agree! Who is complaining we have too much food in Davis Square, and not enough ELECTRONICS STORES??? Not enough, say I! Never enough! I do alot more eating than buying radio controlled race cars. Okay, we certainly don't need ANOTHER Indian restaurant or Irish pub (like what we have, but we're maxed out in those genres) but anything else is welcome, especially if it's good.
