Optometrist

So last year I asked the same question here and was referred to Dr. Scott Sylvia on Mass Ave. He was good - professional, courteous, prompt, pricing was I guess fair (it had been a couple of years before that since my previous visit to an optometrist). But something just wasn't quite right, and I wasn't sure what it was...until I visited Dr. Casey Cook for my teeth. Dr. Cook rocks. So here is my question - is there someone as awesome as Dr. Cook who can check out my eyes, near the Davis Square area? I'm due for an annual exam and my contacts are running low.

I'll read through that...I was hoping to find more specific recommendation by making a comparision to Dr. Cook. 'Cause 'nice' is good, Dr. Sylvia was really nice, but not quite Dr. Cook, who is also many other things.

I suspect you would have a greater chance of getting a useful answer if you said anything at all about why you like Dr. Cook.

Fair enough - Dr. Cook is friendly, professional without being overly uptight, easy to talk to, easy going, listens well, has a wonderful sense of humor, his whole staff has similar attitudes, and they treated me as an equal and showed genuine interest in working toward bettering my teeth. It didn't feel like a transaction to visit Dr. Cook's office - it's like seeing a buddy of mine and he happens to be really good at looking at teeth. There's no pressure, I didn't feel rushed, didn't feel like just another patient with a number.

I get the feeling that many others that have experience as Dr. Cook's patient would know what I mean when I said I'd like to find an optometrist like him, but you're right, it's good to lay out the specifics.

I'm the OP on the post you linked to here - for what it's worth, I just took someone's recommendation from that post and went to EyeQ in Harvard Square, and they were wonderful - friendly, helpful, pleasant, and the optometrist I saw, David, was not only very knowledgeable and gentle, but he also used some nice, new, high-tech equipment that impressed me a great deal. As someone who's had glasses since 3rd grade, and contacts since middle school, I've seen my share of optometrists - these people, so far, are my hands-down favorite. Very, very highly recommended.
