The restaurant at 400 Highland Avenue has closed, a little over three months after it opened. A sign in front says that anyone holding a gift certificate should redeem it at Joshua Tree.

Meanwhile, it looks like the Rosebud is going to give their back room another try. The sign now says La Spina - Authentic Neapolitan Cuisine. Don't know when it's going to open, but presumably soon.

Whoa! That's very weird. Just last week I sold them advertising space in our program and spoke with the chef/co-owner about various upcoming stuff. I wonder what happened.

I wonder if they'll send the check...

(I know another place in Davis that's almost certainly going to close by the end of the summer, too. Gah.)

No, the Someday situation is rather public and this was shared with me in apparent confidence (though granted, I'd only just met the person, but still).

There are certainly a lot of available storefronts in Davis these days.

at the someday meeting, someone confusingly mentioned Magpie's space being available. I know someone from Magpie posts here sometimes -- what's going on with that?

I spoke with one of the co-owners and Magpie is not closing.
