There are some courts in Cambridge by the main Library. I never played there but it looks available to the public. The address is 359 Broadway, Cambridge.

If you play here, keep in mind 2 things
1. The nets can be a little low, so bring a wrench. It looks like simple hex washers to tighten
2. Weds and Thurs they are closed for lessons

There are courts in Winter Hill at the park at Rt28 and B'way. There were people playing tonight under the lights.

I don't know if this counts as "the area", but there are public, lighted tennis courts along Mystic Valley Parkway in West Medford, next to the Harvard Ave. bridge.

Closer to Davis, I think there are also some on Pemberton Street in North Cambridge, between the street and the railroad tracks.

The courts on the Tufts campus are open to the public during non-PE class times (read: most of the time)

There are 2 (3?) courts off Pemberton Street on the west side of Mass Ave. Sometimes when I bike by in the evenings it's busy, sometimes not.
