March by candlelight to mark 9/11
Tomorrow, Somerville will hold its fifth annual candlelight vigil to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Residents are invited to participate in a march along the Community Path followed by a ceremony in Davis Square. Those interested in marching should gather at 6:45 p.m. at the Cedar Street path entrance, where candles will be provided. The march, which will feature honor guards from the Somerville Police and Fire departments, will begin at 7 p.m. The ceremony will include a welcome by Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, a benediction and a bagpipe performance. For more information, call Nancy Aylward in the mayor's office at 617-625-6600, ext. 2100.
