HONK! Festival coming to Davis, October 7

At least 12 New Orleans-style marching bands will parade through Davis Square on Saturday, October 7, for the first ever HONK! Festival.

The event is organized by our local Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society, who are occasionally seen marching around Davis even when there isn't a festival going on.

I'm psyched to check this out. I've heard that they are still looking to raise more money to help cover stuff like food and lodging for the bands. Looks like you can donate here or volunteer your time:

There will also be an indoor show the following (Sunday) night at the Dilboy VFW, so come to that. I think there will be an admission charge, but I don't see that fee on the website.

I noitced that the Honk! websites says that bands will be playing at various "outdoor venues." Do you know which venues those are?

No, but there aren't that many to choose from. I'd guess Seven Hills Park, the plaza in front of JP Licks, the plaza in front of Starbucks, maybe the little park at Grove and Highland, maybe a parking lot or two.
