Recommended contractors?

I need to get some renovation done my house, and am looking for recommended contractors, painters, chimney repointers, etc. Is there any website that tracks feedback (pro and con) about them, something like CarTalk.com's Mechanics Files?

Angie's List () is the canonical answer -- it's got ratings of quite a lot of contractors. Unfortunately, it's not free like Car Talk's site, but a subscription is definitely worth it for most homeowners around here.

Yeah, I was just going to say the same thing. It costs money to joing but I hear it's totally worth it.
