i'm looking into using bio-fuel for heating this winter. anyone had any experience with this? problems with equipment maintenance, delivery, pricing, or funny smells? or any good experiences?
I have biodiesel heating oil through Genove Oil. Prices are slightly higher than ordinary oil but other than that it's been exactly the same experience. I go through Mass Energy, a heating oil cooperative (and major proponent of alternative energy sources). I like them and because they're a coop their prices run lower than average.
Nope. I'm pretty sure my oil burner is thirty years old and I didn't have to modify it in any way. You should check with your supplier, of course, but for me it was just paperwork.
