Hi everybody,

I'd like to get a rug for my hardwood floors. Where would be the best place to look apart from places like Target?

Thanks!

If you're looking for something inexpensive, AJ Wright. I have a nice basic beige area rug in my living room that I got for about $20.

If you want to spend a bit more, Crate and Barrel has nice rugs.

I hit IKEA, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pier One, and Target, and I found one I loved for not a huge amount of cash at Target.

I found a terrific rug at IKEA that was reduced from $120 to $40.

If you're really looking for cheap and are car-enabled, I suggest Building 19. There used to be one at Assembly Square but it's gone now; I think the nearest one to Davis is now in Burlington, but I'm not sure.

I doubly suggest Building 19. They have amazing deals on carpets.

Ditto this, we got a very nice and not too expensive rug there.

super cheap (under $10) - there are a couple boxes of them in various sizes and colors and textures at the Porter Sq Shaw's right now.

for *nice* rugs, i third Building 19.

Ikea if you can get there, otherwise Pier One or Urban Outfitters.

There's the support-your-local-businesses option - there's a floor coverings place in Ball Square, a few store fronts down from True Grounds. They always have a few rugs out in front of the shop when they're open (which I think is 9-6 or something). I've never been in though, so I can't really say what the selection or price range is like.
