Upcoming Meetings: Wall of Respect to Women Mural – October 25, 2006 6:30pm

Our first meeting about the Wall of Respect to Women Mural was on October 3, 2006. The meeting was very well attended and there was interest in the community to go forward with a community process to work towards a new mural at the Brooks Pharmacy site. The project will not be cheap but we have the help of Artists for Humanity and Art Builds Community so we may have some luck in advancing a new mural – but no guarantees yet!

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 6:30pm at the Field House in Powder House Park. At this meeting we will begin to discuss possible women who should appear on a new mural and approaching the community dialogue. Please come to this meeting if you can!

For more information, call Kate at 617-776-4704 or Julie at 617-625-3164.

No, you're not. I also found the two token women in wheelchairs sitting there doing nothing kind of annoying. (Though there was a teacher in a wheelchair on the other side.)

It would be lovely if we could get the artist who did the Harvest Co-Op and Trader Joe's murals in Cambridge. And it needs to include the meter maid. :-)

Yes to the meter maid!

The meter maid was the one thing about that mural that I really liked, and she wants to be back on that wall too:
