Most awesome apartment in the universe?
Nov. 20th, 2006 02:58 pmSorry to burden everyone with another one of those "looking for a roommate" posts, but... I really need a roommate. Operating under the premise that you folks make better human beings than the general populace, I figured I'd mention the place here, first.
So, the rundown, after the cut.
So, the rundown, after the cut.
The details and fine print.
Date: 2006-11-20 06:59 pm (UTC)YOU: The most awesome person on the planet, or just someone who's looking for a room.
US: A group of four twenty-somethings looking for a fifth to share in an obnoxiously luxurious condo between Teele and Davis. We're audiophiles, a bit eccentric, intelligent, and humbly, some of the finest people to walk the planet earth.
Meet us all, courtesy of myspace. Not just for emo kids anymore!
Bill. (http://www.myspace.com/capier) Myself. Graphic Designer turned Journalist turned Editor.
Thor. (http://www.myspace.com/kingofstraw) Music lover. And that's his real name.
Johan. (http://www.myspace.com/anymore) My non-sexual 8-bit soulmate who eats nothing but pasta.
Darien. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=27117937) Soon-to-be-former Tower Employee and full-time Final Fantasy XII player.
THE ROOM: It's slightly larger than 12½' x 12½' and on the first floor. Hardwood floors, in room cable connection. If you don't have a bed for some reason, there's actually one sitting in there right now you can use (we'll stuff it in the basement otherwise). There's also a ancient-but-worthless desk if you want it too (if not, trash day is Monday in these parts). Decent sized closet.
I tried taking a picture of it, but it's quite unspectacular looking since, you know, it is a largely empty room. But hell, take a look anyway. (http://www.43electricave.com/house/bedroom.jpg) It's nicer in person, and it tends to be more sunny when I'm not taking pictures around 1 AM.
THE APARTMENT: It's gas heated in the winter, and there's central air in the summer. It's two floors, but all the common space and the bedroom for rent is on the first floor. Since pictures are worth a thousand words...
VIRTUAL TOUR:
The exterior. (http://www.43electricave.com/house/exterior.jpg) Okay, so I cheated a little using a picture of the house from the summer. It looks the same, it's just that the trees have considerably fewer leaves.
The entrance to 'The Estates at 43 Electric.' (http://www.43electricave.com/house/hallway.jpg) Your room would be the one down the hall with the door slightly ajar.
Living room. (http://www.43electricave.com/house/livingroom.jpg) It's where we live. There's a 36" flat screen there and a pretty decent home theater setup.
Kitchen. (http://www.43electricave.com/house/kitchen.jpg) One of those granite-and-stainless gourmet deals. We actually use it quite a bit.
Bathroom. (http://www.43electricave.com/house/bathroom.jpg) Complete with unnecessary but strangely appealing hydraulic toilet seat.
UNPICTURED: There's a great new three season sunporch, and there's laundry in the basement. (Brand new high-efficiency LG washer, but the dryer is from the Nixon administration.) There's also a nice backyard and grill for summer barbeques.
THE PRICE: Monthly rent is going to run $550. Utilities fluctuate a bit, but last month it ran $100, including gas, water, electric, cable/phone/wi-fi internet. First month and last month due, yadda yadda. Oh, and no offense, but there'll be a negotiable security deposit. It's not that you're a bad person. But the last not-a-bad-person punched a hole in your soon-to-be-brand-new wall. While he did argue that such a happenstance is "so fucking minor," we'd prefer to have some manner of insurance policy in place just in case.
If you've got any interest, drop me a line at billalbers -at- gmail and we can set something up for you to drop by and take a look. I'm leaving for New Jersey on Wednesday, so anytime before then or after this upcoming Saturday would be perfect.
