... is almost open -- they were laying asphalt this morning.

In fact, because I had to move my car so that the road-construction equipment could get into position, I got to drive over it because it was the only practical way to get out. So I may have been the first "unofficial" vehicle over it. :-)

I don't know if they're going to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony or anything -- I expect I'll just come home one of these days and there won't be any barriers up. (You can already walk across it as of Friday.)

Now hopefully they won't have to replace it again when the Green Line gets extended. The designs for it and the Lowell Street Bridge did not account for the possible need to fit two more tracks under them, which given that the Green Line Extension has been proposed for ages, is every bit as mindblowingly stupid as you think it is. (Fortunately, the Lowell Street Bridge can apparently be modified to accommodate the Green Line without having to rebuild it.
