Are there any local charities collecting toys for kids?

Cindy Hickey at the city's Council for Aging is running a 'Toys for Local Children' drive, but I'm not sure where the drop-off locations are. Call her at (617) 625-6600 ext. 2300.

NOTE: most of these places only accept new toys. Not sure about this one, but I don't know of too many places that would take used toys to give to kids at xmas. That's actually kind of a depressing thought.

I called the Council on Aging. They are indeed running a toy drive, collecting new, unwrapped toys. There are drop-off boxes at the following locations:
City Hall
Council on Aging Office 167 Holland St, 2nd Floor
Fire Station in Teele Sq
There will soon be boxes at Traffic & Parking on Holland Ave, and City Hall Annex on Evergreen Ave.

The Starbucks at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and (I believe) Wendell St. just this side of Harvard Sq. is collecting books.
