Are you one of the folks who use a monthly Subway or Combo pass to ride the commuter train from Porter Square to North Station?
If so, pay careful attention. When January monthly passes go on sale starting tomorrow, DO NOT BUY a $59 LinkPass on a CharlieCard. It won't work on the commuter rail, because the conductors don't yet have the equipment to read it.
Instead, you'll have to buy a Zone 1A Commuter Rail Pass. This also costs $59, and it's good on the bus and subway, just like the LinkPass. But it comes on a CharlieTicket, so it has writing on it that the commuter-rail conductors can read.
