Any good exotics/small animal vets in the area? Particularly, vets who will deal with small snakes and rats...snake's due for a checkup, and my rats need to be spayed soon. I'd rather not have to take them on the T, and I'm kind of insistent on having really, exceptionally good exotics vets.

(I know this one is a long shot, but are there any low-cost small animal spay/neuter programs around, too? I'm willing to pay full price, but I'd rather save the dough and have it done by the SPCA or something.)

The Odd Pet Vet's name is Dr. Greg Mertz, and he's wonderful. He sees animals in Needham and Weymouth. He did a couple of surgeries on my rats some time back (tumors) and really knew what he was doing. (All surgeries, though, are done at the New England Wildlife Center in South Weymouth, which is not T-accessible and a pretty good haul from here, but his prices are on the low side of reasonable and I'd travel for a good vet.) Angell Memorial is also very good, but I found them to be really pricey.
