Hi there - Can anyone recommend a dentist in the area? I am a relatively new resident, and have been trekking back to Brighton every 6 months to my old dentist. I really need someone closer by. Can you help?
Thanks!

How do you mean? I've been needing a new dentist but have been hesitant to try someone based on them just being liked, since IMHO a friendly dentist is lovely and all, but I had a wonderfully friendly childhood dentist whose screwups ended up with me losing a permanent molar and having orthodonture that he didn't have me keep long enough to work. So I'm a little traumatized about dentists and more than a little nervous about finding a new one. But "changed my dental life" sounds promising.

I think one of the best things about Dr. Cook is that he really seems to love being a dentist, and it shows in the quality of his work. The first time I ever saw him was when I had broken a wisdom tooth and it had gotten infected. He saw me immediately. Three days later when I was still in a ton of pain and the oral surgeon who was going to take my teeth out wasn't going to see me for a week, I stopped by his office again and he had me call the oral surgeon's office while he stood by and made sure that they moved my appointment up. I've been seeing him for my regular stuff ever since. He's always nice and nonjudgmental and I feel like he and his staff do meticulous and gental work. His hygienists are phenomenal (I see Meg). I've had to have lots of oral surgeries and braces and stuff like that, so dentists were not my favorite, but as going to Dr. Cook's office really made me feel good about going to the dentist again. As I told the staff there, they make me want to be a better flosser. :)

Wow, thank you. I'm still gonna be utterly nervous over the whole thing but I think I'm more likely to see a dentist who's in the square, so with this rec (on top of all the general "Dr. Cook rules" sentiment on this comm) I think I'll actually choose him.
