Heating Repair / Plumbers ?

I need some service work on my steam heat boiler. Does anyone have a good recommendation? Someone who will return my phone call and charge a fair price?

I hate the idea of just calling someone out of the phone book.

do you know what work needs to be done or are you looking for someone because something is wrong asnd you dont know what it is?

my fiance owns his own plumbing comp and works near davis primarily. however he doesnt do a lot of service work because it doesnt usually pay as well...but he has experience in it for 15 yrs so if you want a quote of what a fair price could be i can ask for you :)

What needs to be done: This is a old natural gas fired steam boiler. The electric blower motor is starting to make noises ( bad bearings ? ) and needs to be replaced or lubricated?

The air intake needs to be looked at maybe tested / adjusted to get better efficiency.

I just had my boiler die and called Hub Plumbing (just picked them out of the phone book). They were quick to respond and did a good, speedy job, but they were not cheap.

I've had good luck with George Lucey, (781)646-1213. He does good work, responds in a reasonable time, and seems to be pretty fair in his pricing.

I just had my furnace replaced by Prospect Hill Plumbing. I've also had them fix a few little things (e.g. leaky toilet). They are pretty speedy and not too expensive.

I recently had my water heater replaced by Addario's plumbing and they did a good job. The plumber also talked to me about my furnace in a way that I could understand. They're responsive, too: 1-877-893-3461.

Are you doing annual inspections on it? The gas and/or oil company can probably send someone out to inspect it and give you an idea of what's wrong, which'll make it easier to get an accurate quote.
