Hello all!

Just a quick question for residents on/around Pearson Ave: the little black and white super-friendly kitty that is always around has a home, right?

I've always assumed so, but he/she was outside in the cold this morning when I left for work, and sitting under a car outside when I came home this evening. I used to see him out and about a lot when it was warmer, but it's suprising to see him out all day in the cold.

I'm just worried he might end up out all night and get snowed on!

Edit: He is mostly black, with white feet and a white "beard" on his neck. I think calling him black and white might have ended up with us talking about who knows how many cats!

Where on Pearson? By Kidder? And is she pretty fuzzy? If so, then I met the owner and he only lets her out in short bursts when she whines about it, then he lets her back in ten minutes later, because it's cold and she doesn't really want to be out there. Cats. :)

I wish he'd at least put a collar on her, though.

That cat is massively super-friendly isn't he?

I don't think you have to worry about him tho...I remember seeing him doing the same thing (coming up chatty and following people) all through last winter which had much worse weather. He's definately being taken care of by somebody.

I have the feeling you may be talking about my landlord's cat (depending, that is, how far Pearson is from Liberty (I live one house away from the corner of Kidder and Liberty) - does this cat have white feet? Rest assured, if it is her you've seen, that she'll be fine. She not only had her own humans who let her in, but the humans who live upstairs. :)

I nicknamed him Spats, but his real name is Tux according to his neighbor. I've seen him welcomed inside from time to time, so I think he's taken care of.

Tux? That's my cat

Just like the submitter predicted, people are confusing cats. "Tux" is my cat, and I live on Rogers (2 blocks from Pearson). Tux is exactly like described here, except he is 15 years old. He loves the outdoors generally, but hates it when it's cold out. He's very friendly to strangers. But he hasn't been out at all this week, so this is definitely not Tux. He's probably spent about 10 minutes outside since December.

D'oh! Sorry for the confusion. This cat is really much younger. I've probably confused them for quite a while. But this means I can still call her Spats! Thank you!

Not a problem. Though I always wonder how far Tux wanders when I let him out when it's nice out.
