416 Highland Ave, Davis Square, Somerville
Saturday March 3rd, 12:00 - 7:00

Magpie -- Boston's one and only store specializing hip handmade crafts, goods by indie designers and works by local artists -- is moving to a bigger more central location in Davis Square!

We're celebrating our Grand Re-Opening with...

• 20% off store-wide sale
• Jon Bernhardt (Breakfast of Champions) and Stacie Slotnick (the critique of pure reason) spinning tunes
• treats from Diesel Cafe and La Contessa Bakery
• kick-off of a 2-week exhibition by the Museum of Bad Art

Museum of Bad Art Exhibition with a Brief Talk at 2:00 pm on Saturday

We've teamed up with the world-renowned Dedham-based Museum of Bad Art (MOBA) for an exhibit that will last for two weeks. The Museum of Bad Art is the world's leading (and maybe only) museum dedicated to the collection, exhibition, and celebration of bad art. MOBA has loaned us dozens of their favorite paintings complete with the hysterical description placards that make them all the better... or is that all the worse?

Stop by at 2:00 pm on Saturday to hear a talk by Louise Reilly Sacco -- the Permanent Acting Interim Executive Director and one of the founders of MOBA. Louise will, in a brief talk, try to answer the questions that have just popped into your mind: What? Why? Who? Are you kidding? By the time you leave, you'll want to join the 10,000 worldwide Friends of MOBA.

We hope to see you in our new digs on Saturday! Woo hoo!

P.S. 416 Highland Ave is right across the street from the College Ave exit of the Davis Sq Red Line stop. We're located near Sessa's, La Contessa, Blue Shirt Cafe, etc. in the former home of Poor Little Rich Girl.

Congrats on the grand moving! The MOBA exhibit sounds great, especially for those who haven't been able to get out to Dedham to see the whole museum in all its basement glory.

Woot! The MOBA and Magpie, two odd tastes that go oddly together. Glad the Magpie is back in business.

How awesome of you to do this! I've never been to the Dedham location (too far, no car) so I'm psyched to see your exhibition. I can't come Saturday, but it's up during business hours, right?

The website says it's located at 378A Highland?

The front page says 416, but this one still says 378A. So does this one and this one. Leah, you may want to fix these.
