I took swimming lessons at the Somerville Y 2 summers ago and it was great.

The JFK school (http://www.somerville.k12.ma.us/education/components/docmgr/default.php?sectiondetailid=6441) at Porter Sq has adult classes from time to time at a couple different levels. I found them very helpful!

I took lessons at the kennedy school and really learned a lot. Wish I had time to take more. They have inexpensive group lessons for grown ups and they also offer private lessons. My lessons were on Saturday mornings.
