Reunion show for ORIFICE, 4/11 in Somerville

On Wednesday, April 11, 7:00pm, The Skybar, located at 518 Somerville Avenue in Somerville, MA, will play host not only to a shockingly outrageous birthday bash for local underground rock icon Anderson Mar, but also a REUNION show for Orifice (who disbanded in 1996), featuring Spleen Ecq of Lilac Ambush, and Kelly Godshall of Amber Spyglass.

Orifice was a concept formed by Kelly Godshall & Spleen Ecq back in
1995, combining elements of Gothic, Punk & New Wave influences in an attempt to create an alternative to the then tired grunge scene. Finding accomplices for live performances in the Boston area was nearly futile, but a few legendary shows did happen, with the aid of a drummer. Scattered airplay of their single "In The Red" aided their following among underground cult-scenesters.

About a year and a half later, after releasing 2 full length CDs,
Spleen left the group. Kelly pounded on, eventually morphing the project into Amber Spyglass. Meanwhile Spleen moved away from Boston, penned a huge catalog of demos and founded Lilac Ambush. As fate would have it, Amber Spyglass and Lilac Ambush appeared on several shared bills and the idea of an Orifice reunion at some future point was not ruled out.

Behold, 11 years later, the time has arrived. Members of Amber
Spyglass & Lilac Ambush will meld into Orifice on April 11, 2007 At Sky Bar in Somerville, in an evening celebrating the birthday of the local darkwave scene's champion and anchor Anderson Mar.

The Leon Rich Band, MELT, and Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys also will be also be featured on the bill that evening. Please refer to the following URLs for more information:
