Dear people,

I need a haircut. I'm quite tired of having my hair long, but I don't want the wicked short dyke haircut.
preferably something inbetween? So I'm looking for recommendations for a queer friendly barber/hairstylist.
somewhere local to somerville would be optimal. Thanks!

Is there such a thing as a queer unfriendly barber?

Re: apparently, yes.

I'll second that.. queerphobia is far from dead unfortunately

Oh, and there's a place on the corner of Medford St. and Glenwood Road. 15 bucks, in and out. They're so nice and fun to watch talk in Brazilian.

My friend Steve at Mayfair on the Hill in Beacon Hill does great hair styles and is about as queer friendly as they come. It's expensive there though, and not in Somerville, obviously.

I defected from Liquid to Salon Cu. The prices are much more reasonable and I don't have to deal with a stylist checking out guys and gossiping instead of actually paying attention to my hair.

I go to Helen at Savvy in Inman Sq. It's on Cambridge just East of Prospect. Helen is awesome.

My girlfriend goes to M salon, on Mass Ave near Porter. She has a good time there and, since her stylist is queer, I imagine they're queer-friendly.

Meghan at Liquid. She's great, and totally accepts feedback. Very queer-friendly.
